About Us

Described by one of our parents as a “little oasis in the desert,” Osborn Middle School  is a thriving, student-centered learning community. Our mission is to provide an unrivaled education by creating multiple pathways for all students to achieve academic equity and excellence.

What makes OMS a uniquely successful school is our people and the structures we have in place to support every student. As a professional learning community, our educators work collaboratively to enhance classroom instruction and improve student outcomes. Weekly PLC/content team meetings ensure that every student receives equitable access to the curriculum and the academic support needed for maximum growth.

Students participate in six instructional periods each day, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and two exploratory classes. Exploratory course options include Band, Choir, Art, STEM, Dual Language and Physical Education, allowing students to discover and develop their interests and talents. In addition, every student participates in a 30-minute Firehawk Time period, where they receive targeted instruction, enrichment, or intervention in English Language Arts and Mathematics based on their individual learning needs. 

Beyond the classroom, we are committed to providing enriching experiences that inspire students, foster personal growth, and help them discover their passions. Through a variety of after-school programs, students have opportunities to extend their learning, build new skills, and connect with their peers beyond the school day. As proud members of the Valley Athletic Conference, our students can also participate in basketball, volleyball, cheer, soccer, flag football, softball, baseball, and track. These extracurricular opportunities play a vital role in developing teamwork, leadership, perseverance, and school pride while creating lasting memories and meaningful connections.
